Mobile World Congress 2021: Intel Recap

This year’s Mobile World Congress was delivered as a hybrid event with both virtual and face-to-face engagements in Barcelona, Spain, giving us hope that although we are still working to overcome the challenges of the pandemic, we are also making good strides towards a better future and getting closer to normalcy.

Intel had a virtual presence at the conference and kicked off activities with a pre-event— “Edge of Wonderful | Unleashing the Possibilities of 5G”—where Dan Rodriguez, Vice President, Data Center Group, General Manager, Network Compute Division, shared their strategies and vision for how foundational Intel® architecture is in unleashing the possibilities of 5G, building out the edge and enabling tomorrow’s artificial intelligence (AI).

The event also included several panel discussions on topics ranging from Best Practices to Accelerate 4.0 Transformation, to 5G vRAN Deployments, to deep diving into Private Networks.

Intel® Network Builders ecosystem was actively present with demos and multi-partner collaborations that will shape the year ahead with cutting edge solutions. Intel is delivering on the possibilities of 5G to innovate industries and advance business by transforming networks, building on the edge and enabling AI capabilities. With their foundational platforms and ingredients, they are working with their vast ecosystem of partners to develop solutions that are accelerating 5G and network edge deployments, while reducing risk and complexity that meet the stringent service level agreements of the Telecom industry. One of those partners highlighted was NEXCOM.

NEXCOM introduced next generation uCPE to advance 5G connectivity with its launch of the DTA 1164W. The desktop network function virtualization (NFV) and software-defined appliance has agility for multiple connectivity, supporting Wi-Fi 5/6, 4G LTE and 5G FR1, to meet the massive demand of wireless connectivity in today’s dynamic IT environments. Powered by Intel Atom® C3000R processor, DTA 1164W packs enhanced security features and delivers excellent performance per watt and PoE functionality, providing a cost and time efficient alternative in the Era of 5G, for fast deployment and easy maintenance without compromising performance.
